Auvergne Volcanoes

The majestic Chaine des Puys, the volcanic range of Auvergne, at the heart of the Massif Central.

The great puys that line the chain from west to east can be distinguished: the Puy de Laschamps, the Puy de Mercoeur and the Puy Monchier. Above all, the Puy de Dome, the highest point at 1,464 metres, which dominates the range, flanked by the Petit Puy de Dome and the Grand Suchet. Between them, the Col de Ceyssat and the Col de la Moreno mark the natural passages of this UNESCO World Heritage chain.
