Chamonix
The northeastern part of the Mont Blanc massif, offering views of the Mer de Glace, the Grandes Jorasses, the Aiguille Verte, and the summit of the Grands Montets.
In the foreground, the peaks that pierce the sky from the valley are clearly visible: the Aiguille Verte and the Droites to the west, the Grand and Petit Dru, with their granite obelisks rising high, and the Aiguille du Moine. In the background, the Grandes Jorasses frame the horizon with their majestic ridge, crowned by Pointe Walker at 4,208 meters. Between these two ramparts, the Mer de Glace (France’s largest glacier) unfurls its river of ice from the Géant to the outskirts of Chamonix.
